La Dolce Vita at Woodstock Weddings & Events, York

A Mediterranean daydream in the heart of Yorkshire...

When you think of La Dolce Vita, your mind might wander to the Amalfi Coast - citrus groves tumbling towards turquoise seas, soft golden light dancing across sun-warmed stone, and a long table dressed for lingering lunches. But on a sun-soaked Sunday in Yorkshire, we brought that vision to life without a single air mile.

This styled shoot was more than just a creative collaboration - it was a celebration. A new chapter for Woodstock Weddings & Events, now in the hands of passionate new owners Will and Rachel, deserved to be marked with something special. They wanted to show future couples that their venue isn’t just a place to say I do - it’s a destination in its own right.

The Vision

From the very start, we knew we wanted to bottle that intoxicating Mediterranean soul and pour it into every detail. We dreamed of golden-hour light spilling across layered textures, lemon-drop pops of colour, delicate linens catching the breeze, and a romance that felt timeless yet effortlessly chic.

The goal? To make couples feel like they’d stepped straight into an editorial - but one they could actually live out on their wedding day.

The Details

The venue’s grounds became our Amalfi-inspired playground. Tables were dressed in buttery-soft blooms and sun-warmed neutrals by Wild Floral Couture, offset by crisp stationery from Hervé Jones Designs. A citrus-spiked cake by Where the Ribbon Ends became a centrepiece of pure sunshine joy.

Our bride, in gowns from Treasured Brides, floated through the day with a veil that danced in the breeze, while our groom brought sharp, relaxed style courtesy of Alec Hall Driffield. Hair and makeup by Rochelle Makeup Artist completed the picture of understated elegance.

Culinary magic came courtesy of F4D Events, who created a menu with all the soul and flavour of a Mediterranean feast, designed to be shared, savoured, and remembered.

The Energy

This wasn’t just a styled shoot - it was a story. Photographers Julia Healey and Charlotte Emilie captured sunlit kisses, linen-draped tables, and the kind of just-married joy that feels almost cinematic. Every frame radiated that sun-drenched, editorial romance we’d imagined.

As the day melted into golden hour, we stood back and took it all in - the citrus, the light, the laughter, the breeze through the veil. It was Yorkshire, yes. But it was also Italy. It was La Dolce Vita, reimagined.
